On November 4, 2017, a community fighting for freedom will rally together to celebrate redemption in the lives of hurting women. We want to make this year’s 5th Annual Fuel the Gap 5k Race/Walk the BEST ONE EVER and we need your help making that happen!

ARE YOU READY TO BRING REDEMPTION TO YOUR CITY?

As a host, you are an extension of us. You’re rallying your communities, partnering with runners and walkers of all kinds, with one purpose – to celebration redemption!

We want women to find freedom all over the world and we can’t do it without you.

REQUIREMENTS

HERE ARE SOME TIPS AND INFORMATION TO HELP GET YOU STARTED.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
  • All official runs/walks must take place on November 4, 2017
  • Host must be 18+ years of age to be considered
  • There must be a co-host for your event (a core team is encouraged)
  • Host must be willing to cover any walk expenses (this could be through fundraising or pursuing local partnerships)
  • All hosts must be willing to provide a public contact email for participants
BEFORE APPLYING
CHOOSE LOCATION
  • Choose a walk/run route
  • Choose a walk distance  (5K or less)
  • Set a start time
  • Set a finish time
  • Check permit requirements when reviewing locations
THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING A LOCATION
  • Available parking
  • Available public toilets in the surrounding area
  • Sidewalks accessibility for walk route
  • Handicap accessibility of walk route
  • Major landmarks in the area that could be incorporated into the route
  • Acquire a permit by contacting your local police department, chamber of commerce, or city hall to see what type of permits are required for the location you wish to have your walk
  • Obtain the necessary insurance for your venue and the estimated number of participants
RUN/WALK HOSTS RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Organize walk location
  • Prepare day of logistics
  • Promotion of your Fuel the Gap event
  • Fundraise on behalf of Esther’s House of Redemption
  • Promote your Fuel the Gap event to local media
  • Partner with local churches, businesses, and other organizations
  • Reporting to Esther’s House: mid-way evaluation form, day of report, final evaluation form
  • Build a team of volunteers to assist with preparations and the day of the run/walk
  • Represent Esther’s House the day of the event by sharing the heart of Esther’s House as well as the purpose of Fuel the Gap with all participants before the walk
  • Financially cover any costs associated with hosting a Fuel the Gap event
POSSIBLE EXPENSES
  • Permit
  • T-Shirts
  • Printing Costs
  • Promotional Materials
  • Insurance
  • Equipment rentals (tables, PA system, etc.)

HOST APPLICATIONS ARE DUE NO LATER THAN THURSDAY, JULY 6
